The session took place on 13 September 2006, 15:30.

ALT-C Edinburgh, 6 September 2006 PDF Print E-mail

For the ALT-C 2006 conference in Edinburgh, Bazaar has sponsored a workshop on Personal Learning Environments (PLEs). The workshop was hosted by Lawrie Phipps and was attended by over 75 people (filling the room  to capacity).

First we had a few short introductory speeches by Dave Tosh, Josie Fraser, Terry Anderson and Graham Attwell. These four speakers outlined the subject and touched some of the issues arround PLEs and drew a clear picture of what constitutes a PLE.

Graham Attwells presentation has been turned into a video and can be seen in the Bazaar Project Stall: http://project.bazaar.org/2006/09/09/personal-learning-environments-the-video/

The second half of the workshop consisted of a group exercise in which the audience was split into six groups. Each group got the assignment to draw a diagram of what their own Personal Learning Environment would look like.

We will post more information on the outcomes of the exercise here shortly.
