Welcome to the Bazaar

Bridging the CathedralThe Bazaar is a community portal for people who want to use, exchange and share Open Source Software and resources to support learning.

Exchanging materials, networking with others and testing all kinds of Open Source Software tools and applications can be done through the forum, the wikis and the blogsystem, but also via the Stalls which are put on to the Bazaar website. Register yourself to the Bazaar and request your own Stall for a project, tool or application.

For instance: anything which is helping you as a teacher to better your learning materials might be of some help to others as well.

Click here to go to the Bazaar project Stall, including our Blogs and bi-weekly podcasts.

The kick-off meeting of The Bazaar project was held on January 30-31 2006 in Utrecht, the Netherlands. RayCom B.V., as coordinating partner, hosted the meeting.  We of Bazaar are: Universitat Pompeu Fabra, a spanish university, Ergon k.e.k., a Greek vocational training center, Pontydysgu, a small research company from Wales, Universität zu Köln, a German university who developed,  an OS LMS (ILIAS) and RayCom B.V., an ICT/ OS developer in the Netherlands.

The idea of the BAZAAR is all about creation exchange. There will be stalls with sandboxes, showcases of all kinds of elearning tools. Our claim is that the community is already out there, but that it is scattered, and we want to develop coherence in this existing community of practice. The Bazaar website and the activities we planned, the seminars and ‘show me’ days, will lead to more coherence.
